Web checkout
SMS consent.
Gatekeepers sends operational event-updates SMS only when a buyer voluntarily selects Email + event texts in the Delivery preferences radio group during web checkout and enters a mobile number. Purchasing a ticket does not enroll anyone in SMS, and marketing text signup is not collected with this purchase.
At a glance
- SMS is optional at checkout. Buyers can complete a purchase without providing a phone number.
- Buying a ticket never automatically enrolls a buyer in SMS.
- Checkout currently offers only the operational event-updates opt-in. Marketing text signup is temporarily unavailable and is not collected with ticket purchase.
- Every message includes STOP and HELP handling.
How it works in web checkout
- Buyer selects tickets on a Gatekeepers event page.
- Buyer proceeds to checkout and fills Name, Email, and Confirm Email in Contact Information.
- The buyer chooses delivery preferences in a radio group. Selecting “Email + event texts” reveals the mobile-number field directly below the SMS disclosure.
- When operational SMS is enabled for the event, the Delivery preferences card shows a radio group with two options, defaulting to Email only:
- Email only
- Email + event texts
- Marketing and promotional text signup is currently unavailable and is not shown or collected during checkout.
- When “Email + event texts” is selected, the operational disclosure text renders underneath the radio group.
- Buyer must separately agree to Terms of Service and Privacy Policy before submission.
- If “Email + event texts” is selected with no valid mobile number, inline validation blocks submission.
